Montana Natural Resource Coalition
A custom WordPress website built to organize resources, news, leadership content, and public information through a clear and accessible digital experience.
The Montana Natural Resource Coalition is an organization dedicated to providing information, resources, updates, and public-facing content related to natural resources and local communities in Montana.
The project involved building and expanding a structured WordPress website that could present organizational information while also supporting a growing collection of resources, news updates, leadership information, and downloadable content.
The goal was to create a professional and accessible digital platform where visitors could quickly understand the organization, explore important resources, follow current updates, and navigate larger amounts of structured content without the website becoming difficult to manage.
The primary challenge was organizing various types of content within a single website while maintaining a simple and intuitive experience for visitors.
The platform needed to support standard informational pages alongside more structured content such as downloadable resources, news alerts, leadership profiles, frequently asked questions, and searchable information.
Another challenge was creating a content architecture that could continue growing over time. Resources and updates needed to be managed independently from regular pages while maintaining a consistent design across the website.
Search functionality, responsive behavior, content navigation, and reusable layouts also had to work together without making the administration process unnecessarily complex for the client.
The website was built in WordPress using Elementor Pro together with custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields to create a flexible and maintainable content system.
A dedicated Library system was developed for resources and downloadable documents, allowing content to include descriptions, dates, categories, PDF files, and dedicated single-resource pages.
A separate News Alert system was also implemented so announcements and updates could be managed independently while maintaining a consistent archive and single-post structure.
Search functionality was integrated to make larger amounts of content easier to discover, while dedicated layouts were created for leadership profiles, FAQs, organizational information, and other key sections of the website.
Reusable Elementor templates, responsive layouts, custom styling, and structured navigation were used throughout the project to maintain visual consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
The completed website provides Montana Natural Resource Coalition with a more structured and scalable platform for presenting organizational information, resources, news, and public content.
Visitors can more easily search for information, explore downloadable resources, follow news alerts, learn about the organization’s leadership, and navigate key sections of the website.
The custom WordPress content architecture also simplifies ongoing management. Resources, news alerts, and other structured content can be added and updated independently without requiring individual page layouts to be rebuilt each time.
The result is a responsive and maintainable website that can continue expanding as the organization publishes new resources, updates, and information.
